b'LAND-BASEDDrop off your mate first and then back off to a safe distance to get your gear F ish in the Hauraki GulfOnce all your gear has been offready for offloading.can get wary of theloaded, throw your mate the anchor many boaties out eachrope and reverse to set the back weekend hunting aroundanchor with the shock cord.all the various islands. I have found several island locations yield better results from the rocks than when fishing from the boat, because of the stealthy approach you can take from fishing off the stones.Outside the inner Hauraki Gulf, the fish life around secluded islands can be quite amazing and worth the effort to investigate.Landing on the rocks has its risks and is best done in an inflatable as bumping into the rocks is not recommended for aluminium and fibreglass hulls. It can be done with a lot of care and skill, but inflatables are best for this kind of mission.A lot of guys in the NZ Land Based Fishing Club glue reinforced rubber to the front of their RIBs which works well. I have a bow cover approximately 3m x 1m in size with drawstrings top and bottom, which is custom-made so I can attach it for rock missions. NZ Outdoor Gear were great for doing the work and I would recommend contacting them if this is something you wanted to try.28FISHING IN GODZONE JUL/AUG 2023'
