b'Feature This small king rejected a piper live bait as it got close to the boat.It may take a few goes to get the drift right with wind direction/strength, the current direction and casting ability of the angler. Before you cast, make sure you have the drag set at the right tension.Piper are good live baits butKingies around channel markers wont survive much casting so gettend to be smaller fish but larger the drift right the first time. legal fish will be lurking. Sometimes they take up residence and often they come and go. There will often be a small school of kings that are stacked up under the marker. If you try one side without luck, quietly try the other side. When you are drifting past, the lure or live bait is drawn in front of the marker, so it arrives at the marker within a metre off the front of it. Then you watch with super eagle vision for any sign of an impending strike (Polaroid sunglasses help see the action). The adrenaline makes everything slow down as you see a shadow and then a green flash and an eruption of water as it hits your offering. As soon as it is hooked, apply maximum pressure, and get out of there!24FISHING IN GODZONE MAGAZINE'
