Speed at the Lure: The
Hidden Advantage
One of the most underrated features
of the Seeker Probe system is
speed at the ball. Surface speed
and GPS speed only tell part of
the story, as currents below the
surface can be completely different.
Your lure might be moving too fast,
too slow, or even in an unnatural
direction without you realising it.
By monitoring speed at depth,
you can fine-tune your trolling to
ensure your lures are working exactly
as intended. This is particularly
important for freshwater trolling,
where subtle lure action is key, but
it also plays a role in saltwater when
presenting live baits or swimming
lures for kingfish and pelagics.
The Scotty Seeker Probe
attaches just above the
downrigger weight.
