FUEL EFFICIENCY & RELIABILITY
Over the past 12 months, the BF90hp 
on the 535 centre console has been 
used to help create content for 
the magazine and test Lanza rods 
around Godzone.  We have just had 
it serviced at 125 hours through local 
Tauranga dealer, The Boat Place and it 
of course passed with flying colours.
During our time using the 90hp 
motor and fishing with friends, 
we are often amazed at how little 
fuel the Honda uses.  It is very 
economical, and with the current 
high petrol prices thanks to Trump, 
it still enables us to get on the 
water without breaking the bank.
To give you an idea, on a recent 
snapper trip out of Te Kouma on the 
Coromandel harbour, we headed 
up to the top of the Coromandel 
Peninsula, just south of Fantail 
Bay and upon checking our total 
trip when back in at the end of 
the day, we had travelled 39.7NM 
and only used 29.2L of fuel!
On another winter tuna trolling 
trip out in the boat from Tauranga 
harbour and up to Mayor Island, 
which is approximately 35km (22 
miles), the outboard only used 
42L for the return trip and ran all 
day and was never turned off.
The BF90hp provides reliability 
and excellent fuel efficiency to 
give us a good day on the water.
During our time using the 
90hp motor and fishing
