We only had our baits out 
about three or four minutes 
when we almost instantly both 
hooked up on fish!  They were 
both nice conditioned 2kg+ fish 
and we hurried to rebait and 
get the lines back out as the 
fish were now on the chew.
I had another big hit on the kingie 
bait when my rod bent over hard 
in the rod holder, but the fish must 
have felt the slightest bit of weight 
and dropped the bait.  Brian had 
another strike too, but all the action 
was soon over within twenty to 
thirty minutes and with the sun 
dropping we had to pack up to 
get off the beach by night fall.
The fishing that day was slow but 
there was a short window when 
the snapper came on the bite 
and the kingfish baits proving the 
difference.  Sometimes it pays off 
if you try new things when fishing.
