While launching and slowly 
heading out from the ramp Mike 
commented, "I’m very happy with 
how the new 580CC has turned 
out.  I designed it to be a practical 
and capable boat that is equally 
suited to offshore fishing, diving, 
or family boating.  And I think 
this boat ticks all those boxes."

The 580CC has a 5.8m hull length 
and the overall length is 6.2m with 
spacious internal beam of 1.7m and 
overall, at 2.27m, so there is a lot of 
space inside the boat, especially up 
front on the superb casting platform, 
my favourite place to fish from.
The 580CC has an 18-degree 
deadrise at transom while 
the Oceanpro pontoons help 
by elevating the hull plate at 
the bow for better handling 
in rougher sea conditions and 
boost the reserve design. 
ENCLOSED WINDSCREEN 
As we crossed the Tairua bar and 
picked up speed, a key feature that 
really stands out when you are 
moving in the boat is the innovative 
enclosed windscreen design that 
wraps around the skipper to 
provide excellent protection from 
the wind or water at speed.
Having fished a lot over the past 
year in an Oceanpro 535CC, I can 
attest to how good Mike’s pontoon 
designed models are for stability 
and performance, so I was eager to 
get their largest model with Honda 
BF115hp on the water.  It was 
certainly laden with tech and more 
features than its smaller brother 
the 535CC and the boat looked 
stunning with blue/black vinyl 
wrap and matching U-DEK flooring 
used extensively inside the boat.
