e caught up with 
head designer and 
builder Mike Bush 
at the Expo to look 
over the impressive 
looking boat, which 
was seriously kitted out, and I 
soon convinced him we needed 
to get on the water to take it for 
a spin and its first fishing trip!
PAUANUI TRIP
Mike was looking to get away for 
a holiday straight after the Expo 
the following week, but I managed 
to twist his arm to take me out off 
Pauanui-based boat builder, Oceanpro has been busy over the past few years 
designing new pontoon models and at the recent Boat, Fish and Dive Expo in Hamilton 
they unveiled their latest and biggest centre console, the 580 Centre Console.

their biggest console model.

I arrived early at his workshop to help 
hitch the trailer boat and we towed it to 
the ramp to get a few photos while it was 
nice and clean after the show, and before 
we took it for a run out to Slipper Island 
in choppy conditions as the westerly 
winds were gusting up to 18 knots.
