Back in June 
2024, editor Matt 
Hewetson shot out 
in the Oceanpro 460 
to Motiti Island to 
softbait for snapper 
and test a new 
Lanza spin rod.  A 
large fish grabbed 
the 5" Nuked 
Chicken softbait 
and powered off in 
the shallows.  Matt 
had to drive the 
boat while fighting 
the fish to be over 
it and keep it out of 
the kelpy country.  
After a great fight, a 
metre long kingfish 
was beaten and 
landed.  The Lanza 
rod passed the test 
with flying colours.
