S
urfcasting isn’t a
fishing technique for
all anglers, the idea of
standing in waist deep
water in a wetsuit for
hours and taking on
rolling sets to cast your
bait out into deeper
water doesn’t appeal to everyone.
I however love the simple nature
of surfcasting, being on a remote
beach with nobody for miles, just
you and a rod and pulling in fish from
the surf. Recently in late autumn
I headed to my hometown from
Tauranga to stay at Baylys Beach and
decided to take the Kia Tasman for
a morning drive along Ripiro Beach
and test the new 18” wheels out
and look for a spot to cast a bait.
Setting up the Tica 4.5m
surfcaster with the new Kia
Tasman on Ripiro Beach.
The 18” rims with Hancocks on the Tasman
help to reach the remote spots and create
new fishing adventures in Godzone.
