OVERCAST BEST
Fresh bait sourced at your fishing
spot is an obvious advantage when
trying to catch more fish, but I’ve
also noticed that on bright, sunny
days the fishing often improves as
soon as cloud cover rolls in. Overcast
conditions can trigger bites almost
instantly, as if a switch has been
flipped when the light fades.
"This means you should
mix up your casts when
fishing and place a few
in closer, don’t wade
out as far and drop the
big effort in the cast."
The writer’s go to ledger rig with
Black Magic 60lb pink leader, 6/0
KLT hook and 4oz breakout sinker
with handy clip for removing.
This snapper was well hooked on the KLT
6/0 hook which took a tuatua bait.
